RECYCLING ROUND-UP
Our 5th grade Green Team is responsible for taking recycled materials from each hallway to the outside recycling bins for pickup once a week and tracking our progress. They also created an infomercial on recycling to help educate PKES students! Click below to watch!
REUSING SCRAPS
PKES student leaders conducted a spring STEAM Drive to collect reusable materials to add to the STEAM Lab mid-year. During the drive, students brought in items from home such as bottle lids, paper towel rolls, and other reusable materials for school projects.
The STEAM Lab is a room where we stored these materials that the students brought in from home that they would normally throw away. Teachers came to the room at any time for supplies for STEAM interdisciplinary projects and assignments. There was also a work space so the students could work right in the lab!
